From the President National President's Message Mr. Amos C. Tarley Sr.

Mr. Amos C. Tarley Sr. Nation president

Fellow cardinals, in October of 2019, the haton of leadership for this august body was passed on to us as newly elected officers to serve your dreams, hopes, and aspirations to the best of our abilities.

However, since taking over the leadership in 2019, we have had numerous obstacles and unforeseen challenges beyond our ability to cope with, notably, the “COVID-19” pandemic, and overall, the lack of cooperation on the part of certain officials to implement what was voted upon, agreed by majority votes but decided that such undertakings; should not be implemented.

Fellow cardinals, it saddens us to report that during this year, our administration lost our financial secretary in the person of the late Ms. Korpo Manley Washington. Ms. Washington was a firebrand who fought tirelessly for a better Tuman High School, our association but was called to be with the Lord after losing her battle to illness. As a result of the untimely home going of our colleague, we have decided to dedicate this convention to her memory and honor her for the many sacrificial services she rendered to this honorable body for many years.

Fellow cardinals, despite all that the evil of this world tried to bring upon us as an Association, glory be to God; we remain strong, unyielding, and ever determined to make a difference in the lives of those following our good footsteps as students. In light of these efforts to make a difference, we delivered to the school 60 boxes of stationery, a printer, and a PA system through donations, collections from members, and the association matching funds.

Fellow Cardinals, making a difference in the lives of our young people (students) requires us all; to pull together, think together, pray together, and above all, reason together as Alumni in partnership with the MCSS, the Ministry of Education, and other NGOs to assist in creating an environment that is most conducive for learning at T-HIGH, where every child can receive a sound, quality and outstanding education to make them a productive citizen.

Fellow Cardinals, working together is the key foundation for building a vibrant institution such as the William V.S. Tubman High School.

Let us stop the bickering, the name-calling, the character assassinations, and all of the vices that continued to undermine the growth and development of this association… Realistically, these back and forth have the propensity to drive away willing cardinals who want to lend their helping hand in achieving the goals and objectives of this association for the good of our Alma Mater.

Ladies and Gentlemen rolling our sleeves also means we are cooperating with the leader of the day, even when we think he or she is not our choice. The outcome of a democratic process is not what we always want but what we have at that time. Come, and offer your volunteering services

attend meetings to be an informed Alumni, and pay your dues.

Let us do our best fellow cardinals, and God will do the rest.

Thanks and God Richly bless you.

From the Prior President
